In recent years military strategists have shifted from nuclear to technetronic* weapons, a leap as great as that from gunpowder to atom bombs.  The  creation and accumulation, the ‘stock-piling’ and dispersal of incomprehensibly astronomical quantities of synthetic radio-nuclides represents a planetary biological weapons system exceeded in scale and intensity only by extra-terrestrially-originating catastrophes our planet has experienced throughout her long history.  

On the ‘grand chessboard’ of today, major players are able covertly to create ‘climate disruption’ which is blamed on ‘global warming’, or to create earth-quakes which may destroy a city and/or industrial installation, giving the appearance of a ‘natural disaster’ and releasing massive global radio-logical warfare, in the case of Fukushima.  In his own limited way, humanity deploys his most advanced technologies in order to ‘emulate the gods’ of cosmic death and destruction;  this much we know.  The mystery is…why?

Obama just happened to be in Brazil for the first two weeks of the Fukushima disaster, when released radiation levels were believed to be at their highest, along with the CEO’s of several corporations with very direct ties to the heart of the nuclear industry, including Jeffrey Immelt (GE), Aris Candris (Westinghouse), James T. Last week I received an autographed copy of Chernobyl:  Consequences for the People and the Environment from Dr. Alexey Yablokov.  He is the TOP researcher who understands what Fukushima means for life on this planet.  In his book is the ONLY presentation of the reality and complexity of radio-nuclide dissemination disasters I know of, for example, the totally unexpected behaviour of some isotopes of tellurium and americum; Fukushima is astronomically vaster than Chernobyl in both complexity and quantity of substances released and continually being created and disseminated as I write this.

The figures about the total amounts of radiation being reported are WAY TOO LOW and misleading as well.  First, the leading edge of research from Oak Ridge N.L. (Gauld et. al) tells us that at least 1946 synthetic radio-nuclides exist from fission reactions, EACH of which has a unique half-life as well as numerous and highly radio-active daughter products, each with different half-lives; this is under controlled circumstances, which Fukushima is NOT.  The radio-nuclide situation there is far more complex and unknown because of numerous interactions going on that have never happened before.

Hiroshima alone released 1.2 Mega Curies all at once with a 30 kilo-ton explosion. Rating nuclear detonations in terms of 'tons of tnt', which is what 'kilo-tons' means is totally misleading, as this is ONLY the blast power and tells NOTHING about the radiation release.

The figure of '85 times the radiation of Chernobyl' is a gross under-estimate...it's probably closer to 10,000 Chernobyls for several reasons: 

1) Fukushima has 3 total meltdowns so far, maybe more, with another likely to happen; 14 reactors in total in the vicinity are damaged. 

2) Fukushima has permanently contaminated the entire Pacific ocean by sheer proximity and by using sea-water

3) At Chernobyl no spent fuel pools were destroyed...at Fukushima two spent fuel pools burned up in the first week (massive explosions blew the tops off the buildings, NOT 'hydrogen' explosions but atomic, according to Dr. Chris Busby).  
A fourth pool is believed TO ALREADY HAVE LOST ITS WATER MONTHS AGO, was already on fire as early as the first days of the disaster, and is now emitting huge white clouds as of today (2 May 2012).  This building, 4, has not collapsed yet but if the water is leaking or gone the assemblies have been irradiating into the atmosphere since then.

4) ALL spent fuel assemblies contain plutonium (plutonium is created as a fuel rod fissions and remains in there after it is removed from the reactor) but at Fukushima, MOX fuel rods containing plutonium were in use and fresh ones had just been installed before March of 2011.   
A very small number of spent fuel rods contain enough plutonium to kill all human beings if 'properly' distributed; by reasonable estimates there have been HUNDREDS OF THOUSANDS OF INDIVIDUAL RODS that have rubbleized and/or vapourized since March 2011.

Purely logically and observationally, we KNOW that massive explosions destroyed the insides of buildings one and three…what is the probability that the spent fuel pools remained undamaged?

The cores of reactors 1, 2 and 3 have 'left the building' months ago. The cores of 1 and 3 were blasted apart; their remains and the core of 2 are headed down towards a probable hydro-volcanic explosion scenario.

The spent fuel pools of reactors 1 and 3 ARE GONE, blasted into the air long ago.

Obstacles to Analysis of the Chernobyl Consequences
 
1)  official secrecy

2)  lack of detailed and clearly reliable medical data

3)  "Difficulties in estimating true individual radioactive doses in view of a) reconstruction of doses in the first days, weeks and months after the catastrophe;  b)  uncertainty as to the influence of individual 'hot particles';  c)  problems accounting for uneven and spotty contamination;  d)  inability to determine the influence of each of many radio-nuclides, singly and in combination

4)  inadequacy of modern knowledge as to a)  the specific effect of each of the many radio-nuclides; b)  synergy of interactions of radio-nuclides among themselves and with other environmental factors;  c)  population and individual variations in radio-sensitivity; d)  impact of ultra-low doses [NOTE:  PETKAU EFFECT] and dose rates;  e)  impact of internally absorbed radiation on various organs and biological systems.

"Mutation loads and mutation rates in plants, animals and microorganisms in the Chernobyl-contaminated territories are much higher than elsewhere.  Chronic low-dose exposure to Chernobyl radiation has resulted in trans-generational accumulation of genomic instability...In the contaminated territories there are also active processes of natural selection for the survival of less radio-sensitive individuals - the process of radio-adaptation...[which] in a population under conditions of chronic contamination will lead to diminish radio-sensitivity over many generations and evolutionary theory predicts that this will result because of special adaptation accompanied by elimination of sensitive geno-types and pauperization of the gene pool.  Some plants and animals demonstrate a return to historically atavistic, primitive types of genetic systems...considering the short life-span of a generation of micro-organisms, this rapid micro-evolutionary process can lead to activation of more primitive life-forms as well as to the occurrence of new forms of viruses, bacteria and fungi...More than 70% of all experimental rats raised under conditions of Chernobyl contamination developed cancer within the next few years and suffered multiple other diseases and impaired immunological competence." (p.286)

Chernobyl was one reactor that exploded; Fukushima has 2 reactors that exploded, 3 molten cores in the ground, at least two more reactors in melt-down, a total of at least 14 reactors in trouble, and at least 2 spent fuel pools containing thousands of fuel assemblies and hundreds of thousands of fuel rods that have blasted into rubble and vapourized, releasing and mobilizing thousands of kilograms of plutonium, among hundreds of other highly dangerous radio-nuclides.

Perhaps as many as 1,000 or more OTHER reactors remain in operation today, all over the world, on land, in the ocean and in space, with hundreds more under construction.  Uranium mining continues unabated.

I reckon what's happened at the 'chemical' plant...called a 'glue factory' but known to be a radio-active waste depository with over 3000 containers of DU and who knows what else...that's been burning is this:  unless it was deliberately sabotaged (remember, massive evidence exists that Fukushima was not a NATURAL disaster), there is a good possibility that they've been bringing massive amounts of radio-active waste, debris, water, whatever will go into containers from Fukushima and storing it there WITH ABSOLUTELY NO IDEA OF HOW HIGH THE RADIATION LEVELS ACTUALLY ARE.  Just like in the original 'atomic piles' when you stack a bunch of radio-active materials together closely, weird things start to happen...like 'prompt criticality'…which is the chain-reaction leading to fission. I believe that this is what started to happen at that plant a long time ago...weird flashes of blue light just like they saw at Fukushima...fission reactions started happening in the waste drums.  They were already trying to shut down and evacuate the plant when the explosions and fires started, so they knew something was going on.  With all this stuff on fire, it's even WORSE than the incineration of the rubble and waste.

With the sudden rash of nuclear plant accidents and incidents in America in the last year, it really makes me wonder who is actually behind all this?  Humanity is behind it.  It all adds up to massive and actual ‘nuclear war without the explosions.’

BEYOND FUKUSHIMA

A vast planetary burden of synthetic radio-nuclides already existed throughout the biosphere, including the bodies of plants and animals, resulting from the 2000+ atmospheric detonations, on-going releases (intentional and accidental) from reactor sites and processing facilities, from the many hundreds of thousands of tons of DU (‘depleted’ uranium’) weapons deployed by NATO forces around the world, and other sources (medical waste, spacecraft power systems).

Many hundreds (way more than 435) of civilian reactors exist and are in operation around the world right now, EACH of which has similar astronomical quantities of THE most dangerous materials known to exist.  MANY are located right on faults and/or close to cities.  Vermont Yankee, an old reactor of the same GE design as the exploded Fukushima ones, has approximately 690 tons of spent fuel in its storage facilities.

The U.S. Navy alone operates possibly as many as between 500 and 1000 reactors of its own, some aircraft carriers have 8 or more reactors on one ship.  They claim to have over 5000 'reactor-years' under their belts = the biggest producer of radio-active waste on the planet.  Add in the military reactors of the other nuclear countries.

Tens of thousands of tons of uranium continue to be mined annually, from Kazakhstan, Canada and Australia.  China is currently building over 100 new reactors.
 
Almost NO 'environmental organizations' even MENTION any of this; obvious and text-book signs of acute radiation poisoning are showing up in Alaska seal and bear populations, not to mention the people of Japan...written off as 'mystery diseases.'  Ones that DO 'mention' it, like Greenpeace or WHOI (‘assets’ of the CIA and U.S. Navy, respectively), merely maintain the illusion that 'safe levels' of these radio-nuclides exist, plus they totally down-play the levels found.

NO SAFE LEVELS OF SYNTHETIC RADIO-NUCLIDES EXIST PERIOD.  Read the works of Manhattan Project biologists and the warning of Dr. Linus Pauling, the only scientist ever to receive two Nobel prizes.

THE SITUATION HAS BEEN AT 'MASS EXTINCTION' LEVEL SINCE THE FIRST WEEK AFTER IT BEGAN.  All we're talking now is ASTRONOMICAL OVER-KILL LEVELS.  The southern hemisphere ultimately is no safer than the north, people here will just mutate and die slightly later.  But it's not going to happen over-night...it might take a generation or two or three.

We still live in THIS dimension and we're responsible for THIS dimension. Until we clean up THIS dimension, then for all practical purposes, there are no OTHER dimensions available to us.

The article below by Yoichi Shimatsu is one of the most realistic appraisals of the on-going Fukushima scenario I've yet to read; even he, however, fails to mention the 'non-natural' origins of the disaster, nor the global 'depopulation' agenda it's a part of. HUNDREDS of nuclear reactors around the world have reached or are reaching the end of their life-span...and the beginning of their 'death-span'...which is far, far longer than the few decades they may have operated for. EACH of these reactors contains enough extremely radioactive substances to annihilate all life on the Earth many times over. And more is being created every hour of every day in thousands of locations.

The "Day of Omnicide" is upon us...ecocide, genocide, suicide. Planetary mass-extinction 'events' are believed to have happened before, but this time it's anthrogenic, courtesy of the Earth's most intelligent species, that would be us, homo sapiens, "man, the wise." A year on, the Fukushima nuclear disaster has reached far beyond Japan as an encroaching threat to human health everywhere and to the very existence of life on Earth. As the fallout goes global, there’s nowhere to run or hide since even tiny dosages in rainwater and the food chain have a cumulative effect.

Since leukemia, cancers and birth defects can be falsely attributed to other disorders, the governments of North America, Europe and Asia along with international agencies can be counted on to remain silent or mount campaigns of misdiagnosis to protect their nuclear power and weapons programs, along with their food and travel industries. While the World Health Organization imposed a strict travel ban on Hong Kong during the much less risky SARS outbreak of 1992, the WHO and governments accept those devious ads from the Japanese travel bureau luring tourists with the false claim that the country and its food are safe. With rising numbers of naive tourists returning with serious health problems, residents and travel agents in Singapore and Hong Kong have finally become wary of sending anyone to Japan. Business as usual is death abnormal.

Warhead Recycling Worsened the Crisis

Whatever his timid admissions about the official cover-up so far, former Prime Minister Naoto Kan has yet to disclose the truth behind his more disturbing decisions: first, the absence of stenographers and voice recordings at his emergency Cabinet meetings; and why the government had to order the Tokyo Electric Power Company not to abandon Fukushima No.1 plant after the March 15 mini-nuclear explosions.

The high-level cover-up and lab analysis of cesium-isotope ratios indicate the Japanese nuclear establishment was illegally involved in the reprocessing of weapons-grade uranium at Fukushima No. 1 and probably two other civilian nuclear plants in northern Japan. The U.S. Department of Energy dares not address Tokyo’s violation of the Non-Proliferation Treaty because much of the enriched nuclear material at Fukushima was covertly supplied from the American military arsenal under a suspected 2006 secret accord between the Bush and Abe administrations.

According to whistleblowers in the U.S. non-proliferation agency, highly reactive uranium from dismantled U.S. warheads stored in the Fukushima spent-fuel pools readily ignited after the quake knocked out the water pumps. A transport casket of elongated shape resembling a missile was sky-hooked out of a pool by helicopter soon after the tsunami, but the remainder of the weapons-grade stock was too heavy to remove. The series of detonations prevented repair crews from accessing controls of the reactor cores, which eventually melted through the containment chambers and into the subsurface soil.

When the quake and tsunami hit on March 11, only three reactors out of a total six at Fukushima were scheduled to produce electricity yet in actuality five were operational. Since then plant workers disclosed that the supposedly empty Reactor 4 had been refitted with a new steel shroud in secret by GE and that it was fully loaded with new fuel rods. The two extra reactors were running clandestine operations, the likeliest purpose being the enrichment of uranium prior to extraction. By no coincidence, Hitachi Electric and Honeywell are partners in developing a laser-plasma system to extract highly pure plutonium and uranium.

The collaboration between Washington and Tokyo in a covert nuclear-weapons program was a violation of international law that in its hypocrisy and duplicity towers above Iran’s suspected program or North Korea’s puny attempts at bomb-making. Weapons production at Fukushima also violates the foundations of the U.S.-Japan Security treaty, which stipulates that Japan provide military bases in exchange for protection under the American nuclear umbrella. The International Atomic Energy Agency’s selective enforcement of the counter-proliferation treaty only spurs smaller nations to invest in nuclear deterrence against the real possibility of a covert build-up by Japan, Israel, India and other U.S. allies.

Now, to make an optimistic prediction: Considering the 33-year half-life of cesium, far more people worldwide can be expected to die horribly due to the fallout of Fukushima rather than in any nuclear war with Iran or North Korea. Proliferation begins at home; not only inside faulty nuclear plants but whenever we switch on a television set or open the refrigerator door. Our consumerist demand for convenience leads to docile acceptance of mass suicide. Laziness – both physical and mental - is thus the greatest of the seven deadly sins of this nuclear era.

There's some really weird shite coming down right now...just this morning we photographed some of the strangest cloud formations we've ever seen. I discovered that the 'conjugate point' (the point on the globe exactly opposite, straight through the centre of the Earth) for the HAARP facility in Gakona, Alaska, happens to be in the middle of the south Pacific ocean, about half-way between New Zealand and Antarctica. Scientific expeditions have been deployed to this 'conjugate point' because this is where a lot of the energy from HAARP transmissions returns to Earth.

The oldest aircraft carrier in the U.S. Fleet, the Enterprise, is en route to the strait of Hormuz where it may be targeted by an Israeli 'false-flag' attack to be blamed on Iran. The Enterprise has...get this...8 NUCLEAR REACTORS ON BOARD and several thousand crew.

Miscalculation, Provocation or a Staged False Flag Op.? Resist U.S. War Threats on Iran

There is growing apprehension that through miscalculation, deliberate provocation or a staged false flag operation, a U.S. war with Iran is imminent.

The dangerous combination of top U.S. officials’ public threats, the Pentagon’s massive military deployment, continued drone flights and industrial sabotage against Iran provides an ominous warning. The corporate media have been more than willing to cheer industrial sabotage, computer viruses and targeted assassinations. War maneuvers with Israel scheduled for mid-January were suddenly postponed Jan. 15 until May or later.

The U.S. Congress overwhelmingly voted to include binding provisions in the National Defense Authorization Act, and President Obama signed the legislation Dec. 31 ordering Iran’s economic strangulation. These NDAA provisions demand that every other country in the world joins this economic blockade of Iran or face U.S. sanctions themselves. This itself is an act of war.

The entry of the U.S. into World War II in 1941 provided an enormous surge of productive capacity that pulled the U.S. economy out of a 10-year economic depression. What worked as an economic stimulus 70 years ago, before the existence of the gargantuan, bloated, high-tech military-industrial complex, is long past.

Today the U.S. has a military machine and a military budget larger than that of the rest of the world combined, exceeding $1 trillion a year in stated and hidden costs, even without another war.

Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner launched a tour of East Asian nations in early January to convince south Korea, China, India and Japan to cut their massive Iranian oil imports and abide by the sanctions.

China and India — both major economies — refused directly. China buys a third of Iran’s oil exports. Japanese officials, when meeting with Geithner, seemed to agree. But after his departure Foreign Minister Koichiro Gemba backtracked, saying, “' United States would like to impose sanctions. We believe it is necessary to be extremely circumspect about this matter.'

Russia announced its refusal to comply with sanctions. So did NATO member Turkey. The European Union insisted on a six-month delay, due to fears of the economic consequences to debt-ridden Italy, Spain and Greece. The Greek government said it needs at least a year.

…the danger is that U.S. corporate power, seeing on every side its declining ability to ram through its dictates, is increasingly driven to military solutions.

This is exacerbated by U.S. setbacks in Iraq and Afghanistan that have weakened the U.S. superpower’s dominance of Southwest Asia relative to Iran. The more the U.S. loses its grip on the region, the more desperate imperialism may become to risk all in a mad adventure to recoup its past position.

Every voice must be raised at this urgent hour against sanctions and war.

USS ENTERPRISE TO BE 'SACRIFICIAL NUCLEAR FALSE-FLAG LAMB'?

This extremely poignant video tells us that the USS Enterprise, which is the U.S. Navy's oldest aircraft carrier, is on its way to the Strait of Hormuz off Iran. The video explains how this ship is scheduled to be de-commissioned next year, and that is has 8 nuclear reactors on board, which makes this process extremely expensive and laborious. The video goes on to explain how Israel has a well-documented history of attacking U.S. military assets and then 'blaming' someone else...this is what a 'false flag' operation is, by definition...for example, how they attacked the U.S.S. Liberty in the 1970's I think, then blamed it on Egypt...you know, so that America would then go and blow up Egypt.

What the video producers reckon is that now, Israeli Dolphin-class subs are going to blow up the U.S.S. Enterprise so that they can then 'blame' Iran for it, providing justification in the (willfully ignorant) public's mind for America and Israel to nuke Iran, and at the same time making it harder for Russia and China to come to Iran's assistance.

Luckily, the truth got out about the U.S.S. Liberty before America could attack Egypt; let's hope we are at least as lucky this time, as the consequences THIS time could be nothing less than global thermo-nuclear war.

The scariest part is that our old friends the U.S. Navy seem to think that having the Enterprise sunk in Iranian waters would relieve them of the responsibility of having to deal with all that radiation contamination. Now THAT'S an example of 'military intelligence' at work for freedom, democracy and the environment!

The Unspoken Crisis of a Worldwide Nuclear Radiation

INTRODUCTION

The World is at a critical crossroads. The Fukushima disaster in Japan has brought to the forefront the dangers of Worldwide nuclear radiation.

The crisis in Japan has been described as "a nuclear war without a war". In the words of renowned novelist Haruki Murakami:

"This time no one dropped a bomb on us ... We set the stage, we committed the crime with our own hands, we are destroying our own lands, and we are destroying our own lives."

Nuclear radiation --which threatens life on planet earth-- is not front page news in comparison to the most insignificant issues of public concern, including the local level crime scene or the tabloid gossip reports on Hollywood celebrities.

While the long-term repercussions of the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear disaster are yet to be fully assessed, they are far more serious than those pertaining to the 1986 Chernobyl disaster in the Ukraine, which resulted in almost one million deaths (New Book Concludes - Chernobyl death toll: 985,000, mostly from cancer Global Research, September 10, 2010, See also Matthew Penney and Mark Selden The Severity of the Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Disaster: Comparing Chernobyl and Fukushima, Global Research, May 25, 2011)

Moreover, while all eyes were riveted on the Fukushima Daiichi plant, news coverage both in Japan and internationally failed to fully acknowledge the impacts of a second catastrophe at TEPCO's (Tokyo Electric Power Co Inc) Fukushima Daini nuclear power plant.

The shaky political consensus both in Japan, the U.S. and Western Europe is that the crisis at Fukushima has been contained.

The realties, however, are otherwise. Fukushima 3 was leaking unconfirmed amounts of plutonium. According to Dr. Helen Caldicott, "One millionth of a gram of plutonium ingested causes cancer".

An opinion poll in May 2011 confirmed that more than 80 per cent of the Japanese population do not believe the government's information regarding the nuclear crisis. (quoted in Sherwood Ross, Fukushima: Japan's Second Nuclear Disaster, Global Research, November 10, 2011)

The Impacts in Japan

The Japanese government has been obliged to acknowledge that "the severity rating of its nuclear crisis ... matches that of the 1986 Chernobyl disaster". In a bitter irony, however, this tacit admission by the Japanese authorities has proven to been part of the cover-up of a significantly larger catastrophe, resulting in a process of global nuclear radiation and contamination:

"While Chernobyl was an enormous unprecedented disaster, it only occurred at one reactor and rapidly melted down. Once cooled, it was able to be covered with a concrete sarcophagus that was constructed with 100,000 workers. Fukushima is the greatest nuclear and environmental disaster in human history

By way of comparison, the Chernobyl nuclear disaster that occured in 1986 in the Ukraine, Russia- heretofore the worst nuclear disaster on record- burned for 10 days and cumulatively killed an estimated 1 million people worldwide. The Fukushima, Japan nuclear disaster has 5 nuclear reactors burning, 2 in partial meltdown and 3 in full meltdown- and they've ALL been uncontrollably burning since March 11th.

The amount and intensity of the radioactive fallout from this particular nuclear disaster will assuredly kill hundreds of millions of people worldwide over time. Japan itself is, of course, the epicenter of this radioactive contamination that has spread out from these reactors.

To give one an example of how lethal radiation is, one pound of plutonium evenly distributed into everyone's lungs would kill every man, woman and child on Earth. There are literally "tons" of radioactive plutonium (among other radioactive elements) that have been released into the air and ocean environments since March 11th. Another critical fact to remember is that radioactive plutonium, for example, remains lethal (killing life) for thousands years as it has a half-life of 24,000 years. Some other radioactive elements such as uranium have a half-life of 4.47 billion years.

In a nutshell, Fukushima represents a literal catastrophe for the human species, plain and simple, there's no other way to put it.

Radiation kills, and thanks to the recent Fukushima disaster in Japan, the REAL story is that a literal nuclear holocaust is unfolding right before us in America and throughout the world. The EPA (Environmental Protection Agency), the federal environmental safety agency arm of the US government has shut down nearly all of its radiation detection monitors in the USA for fear that the American people will learn the TRUTH that a lethal dose of radioactive fallout has now descended upon the nation.

Rosalie Bertell is one of the main “Rachel Carson's of Radiation” and has been an out-spoken educator about the nuclear scenario as well as a critic of the military-industrial complex for decades. About 10 years ago she wrote a book that was way ahead ot its time, Planet Earth: Latest Weapon of War in which she documents many of the 'new generation' of weapons systems including HAARP. Dr. Claudia von Werlhof and colleagues endeavoured to have a German edition of this excellent book published, and I just saw this yesterday! It looks like the Navy and/or CIA must have paid off the publisher to undermine Bertell's book. I'll relate more details as I'm able to find them out.

Dear Mr. Fischer,

I am shocked that in Germany a publisher feels free to add to a book content uninvited - and maybe even to subtract from a book as he will! I regret the decision to let you handle this book, that is obviously beyond your understanding. In most countries it would be illegal for the publisher to add personal remarks to a book! Regardless of the legal status, it is ignorant and insulting. People do not buy a book because you publish it and are generally not interested in your opinion of the book. I am shocked at this behaviour in a European country with a literary reputation like Germany. I will be seeking both legal and political assistance to find whether or not this is an action acceptable to the literate German public and to academic standards or whether we unfortunately have chosen a second-rate publisher. I would like to hear your excuse for this bizarre behaviour if you have one.

Review of Planet Earth: The Latest Weapon of War, Dr. Rosalie Bertell Philip

Berrigan wrote this review, first published in the Jonah House Newsletter, while in a US prison for probation violation on two Plowshares anti-nuclear peace witnesses -- the first against a new Aegis destroyer at the Bath Iron Works Bath Iron Works (BIW) is a shipyard located on the Kennebec River in Bath, Maine. Since its foundation in 1884 by Thomas W. Hyde, Bath Iron Works has built private, commercial and military vessels, Maine, February, 1996, and the second against two A-10 Warthog fighter/bombers - chief dispenser of Depleted Uranium in both Iraq and Yugoslavia.

Nuclear war is here, but not as we imagined it.

War is our number one business, war is the health of the State, war bonds and unites government, corporations, banks and people, war lends lustre.

In mineralogy, the appearance of a mineral surface in terms of its light-reflecting qualities. Lustre depends on a mineral's refractivity (see refraction), transparency, and structure. To the capitalist claim that it alone "works".

The military is threat, peril, quick and slow assassin of us and the earth. In our sad and bloody history, we could never afford it, least of all now, with its potential for global destruction, nuclear winter, the extinction of all life. We must dismantle it, transform it into a Conservation Corps, give it an unarmed peacekeeping role, assign it to environmental cleanup and public works.

What of Evidence?

It is overwhelming, most of it suppressed by government and media. Dr. Rosalie Bertell's grim report on the casualties of 56 years of nuclearism and interventionary war strips the military of its protective coloration. DECIMATION. The punishment of every tenth soldier by lot, was, among the Romans, called decimation, of People and the Rape of the Earth:

* 2.6 million American GI's reported sick on return from Vietnam, and one million Vietnamese were poisoned by Agent Orange.

* The American war in Vietnam

* The US military plans to use the Earth as a weapon, harnessing the power of its natural processes for war. (Bertell)

* The 300 megatons of nuclear explosions set off from 1945 to 1963 reduced the ozone layer by 4%.

* In 1958, the US Navy exploded three atomic bombs 300 miles above the South Atlantic. About the same time, the War Department exploded two hydrogen bombs 100 miles above Johnson Island in the Pacific. These tests caused a doubling of cancer rates. The explosions also disrupted (perhaps permanently) the Van Allen Belts, which protect the Earth from the sun's rays.

* In April 1964, a US rocket was aborted, scattering 17,000 curies of plutonium over a large area. At least two more attempts to put nuclear power in space scattered 34,000 curies of plutonium at the completion of the mission. NASA's history displays numerous disasters from its space programmes.

* The General Accounting Office revealed that the War Department generates 500,000 tons of toxins annually, more than the five leading chemical companies combined.

* The War Department reported to Congress that 17,484 military sites can't meet federal environmental standards.

* With Ulysses (another space probe) in 1990, plutonium in space became routine. When Cassini carried 72 lbs. of plutonium into space in 1997, scientists estimated 20 million lung cancer lung cancer, cancer that originates in the tissues of the lungs. Lung cancer is the leading cause of cancer death in the United States in both men and women. Like other cancers, lung cancer occurs after repeated insults to the genetic material of the cell. victims if it exploded over populated areas.

A Federal Environmental Impact Statement, filed by the Air Force, says this:

* Earthquakes have increased in recent years, said Secretary of War William Cohen in April 1997: "Others are engaging in eco-terrorism whereby they can alter the climate, set off earthquakes and volcanoes remotely through electro-magnetic waves." This is called "blaming the victim" -- accusing others of doing what we are doing.

* The US Air Force boasts that it will "own" the weather by 2005.

* The Guardian reported that the Depleted Uranium shells fired in Iraq and Kuwait have left at least 40 tons of radio-active dust.

* In Iraq, we gutted that society with our bombing: electrical power generators, water treatment plants, telephone and radio transmission, food processing, storage and distribution warehouses, animal vaccination stations, agricultural irrigation irrigation, in agriculture, artificial watering of the land. Although used chiefly in regions with annual rainfall of less than 20 in. (51 cm), it is also used in wetter areas to grow certain crops, e.g., rice. sites, railroads, bus depots, bridges, public transportation vehicles, oil wells, pipelines, oil storage depots, gasoline filling stations, sewage treatment and disposal systems, and factories producing cars and textiles for civilians.

* There were two aerial bombings of Yugoslavia in history.

* Bombing of the Kingdom of Yugoslavia during the April 1941

Invasion of Yugoslavia.

* Bombing of the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia during the 1999 Operation Allied Force.

The Guardian calls the bombing of Yugoslavia "in environmental terms, the dirtiest war the West has ever fought...a war which targets chemical factories and oil installations, which deploys radioactive weapons in towns and cities, is a war against everyone, civilians as well as combatants, the unborn as well as the living."

* A conservative estimate of oil consumption in the Iraqi war, a war to protect accessible and cheap oil - 900 million gallons. War causes vast death and crippling of the living, the unborn, the human gene pool. But after the killing stops and the diaspora of refugees, a blasted environment remains, sometimes for hundred and thousands of years. Added to war itself, moreover, research and development of weapons, war games, maneuvers and the general preparation for battle undermines our life support system.

The military as an instrument of mass killing is a waste institution humans, energy, oil, metals, scientific and technical skills, money - it consumes all and restores nothing to the resources of the planet. Any faithful or sane scrutiny would conclude that it must be dismantled. It kills, threatens and wastes - it is the BIG LIE institutionalised.
